Plesk Web Pro or Web Host: which edition fits?
Your Plesk edition and server size answer different questions: which management features can you use, and what workload can the environment handle? Considering both separately helps you choose a package that fits your workflow and applications.
The main licence differences
Plesk Web Pro supports up to 30 domains. Web Host removes that licence limit and adds reseller management. This distinguishes managing your own or your customers' projects from operating a hosting service with separate reseller accounts. The manufacturer's current edition comparison is linked below.
Unlimited domains do not mean unlimited server capacity. Websites, databases, mailboxes and background jobs still use the selected server's resources. Check memory, available storage and workload during business-critical periods as well.
Two examples to guide your choice
A company operates eight websites, manages them centrally and needs no reseller accounts. Web Pro can cover the licensing requirement. Whether the smallest server package is sufficient also depends on its CMS, databases, visitors and scheduled work. One demanding shop can need more resources than several simple company websites.
A hosting provider wants to organize projects through separate reseller accounts or plans to host more than 30 domains. Web Host is the suitable edition of these two. Before choosing it, define reseller permissions and how storage, backups and support will be allocated.
Licensing and operations in one package
NUXOA's managed Plesk S package includes Web Pro. Plesk M, L and XL include Web Host. Setup, updates, monitoring, DDoS protection and the stated backups are part of the managed scope. Responsibility for individual websites, plugins and business applications should also be assigned clearly.
Information to prepare
- Count current and planned domains.
- Define customer and reseller accounts and their permissions.
- List storage requirements, databases and demanding applications.
- Check additional extensions and their licensing separately.
