Cloud, hosting and IT for businesses

Server and hosting migration

We help migrate websites, mailboxes and servers. This covers the inventory, data transfer, functional testing and the agreed cutover.

Process

  1. Define the current setup and target

Document systems, data volumes, contacts and acceptance criteria. The quotation describes work, required participation and effort.

  2. Prepare transfer and a pilot

Prepare the target environment and initial transfer. Authorised pilot users check selected business workflows.

  3. Cut over and verify

Pause changes where necessary, synchronise remaining data and change DNS or access routes within the agreed window.

  4. Accept and follow up

Check functions, data and access together. Retire the old system only after approval and in accordance with agreed retention.

Existing systems and target environment

Domains, mailboxes, databases and business applications often have different owners. We examine those relationships before selecting a window. Planning covers the target environment, access, notice periods with the previous provider and an agreed fallback procedure.

Websites and shops

Files, databases, runtime and background jobs belong together. Check forms, payment in test mode and external integrations as well.

Email and groupware

Calendars, contacts, sharing and archives may need attention alongside messages. Mailbox migration and changes to mail routing must be coordinated.

Servers and workplaces

Record applications, identities, certificates and connected devices. Vendor approval and licences must also fit the target platform.

Prepare for an initial assessment

  • Current provider, products and intended cancellation dates
  • Applications, versions, data volume and available access
  • Domains, DNS, mail routing and external integrations
  • Preferred date and business contact for acceptance

Frequently asked questions

Is migration free?

We estimate effort from your systems and the support required. Free migration is not a blanket inclusion in hosting offers.

When can the previous contract end?

Review notice periods early. Technically retire the old environment only after successful acceptance and after preserving the required data and backups.
